The Gallery Rooms and Suites on the first floor were the original living quarters for the owners of the Hall and their guests. These high-ceilinged rooms, decorated in traditional style, retain many beautiful period features including ornate fireplaces and overmantels.
The Bedrooms on the second floor have been furnished in a more contemporary style with luxurious textured fabrics from Romo and Nina Campbell and dark wood furniture. Despite a more modern design, many still feature beautiful fireplaces.
In addition to freshly-squeezed orange juice, cereals, fresh fruit and pastries we offer a full breakfast menu featuring dishes such as scrambled eggs with
smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, kippers and of course, the traditional full English. The cooked breakfast is included in all room rates as standard so when you stay with us you know you will be off to a good start in the morning.
Our rooms offer the meeting of old and new. Classic Georgian architecture combined with stylish decorating as well as all the latest mod-cons and little luxuries you would expect from a hotel that has been awarded the AA Inspector’s Choice Award.
Our rooms feature sumptuous beds topped with 100% goose down duvets and pure white Egyptian cotton sheets.
If you have allergies please inform our staff who will be happy to change your bedding to hypo-allergenic, non-feather bedding.

Afternoon Tea at Swinfen Hall is a leisurely affair of sandwiches, freshly-baked buttermilk scones with home-made preserves & clotted cream and a selection of delicious cakes and desserts all served with tea of your choice or a cafetière of freshly-ground coffee. To make the occasion extra special add a flute of chilled Champagne or a glass of sparkling rosé.
We are very happy to offer gluten-free teas with prior notice – please let us know of any specific dietary requirements when booking.
We hold themed events throughout the year often combining live music and great food. You can enjoy afternoon tea dances, jazz suppers and wine evenings as well as a series of Sunday evening concerts.
We also hold regular gourmet nights which include a venison supper in November with Swinfen estate-reared venison, a good life dinner in the Autumn showcasing produce from our half-acre walled garden as well as estate-reared Manx lamb and a black-tie Midsummer Champagne evening.
Accommodation offers include “Fantastic Fridays” when you can stay overnight at half the advertised rate if you are eating in the Four Seasons restaurant – a great way to start the weekend - or occasional “Flash Sales” when we have a special discounted rate on specific dates.
Check in from 2.00pm on and enjoy a leisurely stroll around our beautiful 100-acre estate or visit the Georgian city of Lichfield with it's medieval three-spired cathedral.
All accommodation offers include a splendid continental and cooked breakfast.
